Different civilizations followed different methods of calculations according to their interpretations and level of intelligence.
Some Civilizations which had their own systems of numerals and calculations are Egyptians, Babylonians, Romans, Sumerians, Chinese and Indians.
In the early 12th century a Mathematician from Europe by name Leonardo of Pisa, also known as Fibonacci got the information of Indian Numerals and its Arithmetic applications through Arabian traders and he wrote a book named LIBER ABACI. It as the first book published in western world explaining the Decimal Number System by the Hindus and Arabs.
By using this knowledge many European Mathematicians started creating algorithms for different mathematical operations, applications and calculations.  They applied these results and achieved a lot of technological advancement, which gave rise to industrial revolution in Europe by early 15th century.
All this was possible only with the advancement of Mathematics contributed by some great Mathematicians of that time in Europe. Even the Mathematical concepts what we learn in our Schools and Colleges today in the modern world are the Algorithms developed by the European Mathematicians.
They are complicated, involve multiple steps, not easy to comprehend and a bit mind straining.
On the other hand, The Indian Civilization was much advanced in terms of knowledge especially Mathematics and was the richest of all the civilizations. The Indian Mathematical System was so advanced that the Indians achieved the highest technological advancement much before the European counterparts.
Most of the European Mathematicians were so fascinated with the Indian Mathematicians works that they patented this work on their names.
Some of which include Pythagoras Triads, Originally Sulabha Sutra by Boudhayana
Pascal Traiagle, Originally Meru Prasthana from Vedas
Horners Method of Division, Originally from Vedic Maths Paravartya Yojayat Sutra.
There are many  more such concepts copied by the European Mathematicians.
VEDIC MATHS  is a one line calculation method using which calculations can be performed at mind boggling speeds with less mental effort.
Vedic maths s based on 16 Word Formulae  or Aphorisms and 13 sub word formulae, totally accounting to 29 methods.
By using them we can solve everything in mathematics. Vedic maths is a holistic approach to calculations. regular practice for few months promotes 360 degrees mind development and triggers high level of intelligence among the students.
